Key recommendations to help safeguard your information and transactions:

Password and Credential Security

  • Use strong passwords with at least 8 characters, combining uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters
  • Avoid easily guessable information such as dates of birth, phone numbers, or user IDs
  • Keep your passwords strictly confidential. Deutsche Bank will never ask for your password or credentials via email or phone
  • Do not store passwords in unsecured locations (e.g., written notes or browser auto-save for sensitive applications)
  • Change your passwords regularly and immediately if compromise is suspected
  • Use distinct passwords for financial or sensitive services

Phishing and Email Fraud

  • Be cautious of emails requesting sensitive or financial information or prompting you to click on unknown links
  • Deutsche Bank will not request account details, passwords, or credentials through email
  • Always verify the authenticity of communication before responding or taking action

Vishing (Voice Phishing)

  • Be alert to unsolicited calls claiming suspicious activity or requesting confidential information
  • Do not share any sensitive details over phone calls
  • Verify caller identity through official bank channels
  • Disconnect and block suspicious calls immediately

Device and Application Security

  • Install software and security updates promptly and enable automatic updates where possible
  • Monitor your devices for unusual behavior (e.g., rapid battery drain, reduced performance), which may indicate malware
  • In case of suspected compromise: 
    • Reset the device
    • Reinstall applications
    • Change all passwords immediately
  • Recommend secure / regular installation of operating system and application updates
  • Download applications only from authorised sources
  • Ensure anti-malware / anti-virus applications on devices
Please remain vigilant against evolving risks, including:
  • Phishing / Reverse phishing
  • Vishing scams
  • Unauthorized remote access to devices

Always ensure that your account details, credentials, PINs, and device access remain secure.
